self-destructive poems: ones that will make no sense to anyone/ones that are explicitly destructive to the author––metaphorically or otherwise/

loveaha! hahaha ahhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahhaahha, hahaha, a-haaaaa
to make these videos, i conceptualized decay, coincidence, and love in my current life. surrounded by my closest friends–who were helping me move a couch–i came up with the metaphor of a party to represent how i coincidentally met them; like how you can randomly meet someone when you're sick at a party and they decide to care for you. from there, i decided to convey decay as the decay of my persona before i met them. in turn, i chose to make the love video about how comfortable we are together after our fifth year of friendship.
i filmed all of us together just having fun for the love video and provided them with subtle direction for the coincidence video, as it required a bit of character-playing by the end. the other videos were sourced from my phone before i met my friends. i put all the videos into premiere and cut them up in a way that i felt told the story best.
i made the audio for two of the three videos on audition by extracting certain sounds from the videos and aligning them together. i only edited the pitch in the decay video. in the love video, i decided to make a beat because the audio was comingled with other songs in the background. fittingly, i decided to use bits of us laughing and joking with each other to create it. then i exported it from audition back into premiere.
